The PureGold Mine and mill have substantial infrastructure already in place and in a high state of readiness, including a mill, tailings facility, Ontario grid power, a continuous-pour concrete 55-metre headframe, mine portal and ramp, permitting, and a Class 1 paved provincial highway right to our door.
As a result, there have been very significant reductions in construction complexity, capital expenditures, and timelines required to commence gold production here in this low-capex and high-margin mine.
A rigorous and comprehensive project execution plan and mine construction schedule has been in place since 2019. Skilled teams of staff, engineers, and speciality contractors have been fully engaged in keeping this plan on schedule to pour first gold by Christmas 2020.
Red Lake, one of the world’s richest high-grade gold districts, has a 90-year history of gold mining. With an area population of over 4,500 people, the Town of Red Lake (located right next door) has a skilled and highly experienced workforce; many people are part of multigenerational gold mining families.
