Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.


Reporting to the Underground Mining Supervisor, the successful candidate will work locally on a two week on and two weeks off rotation to safely support mining operations with operating Bazooka drills while following safe work procedures to provide overall production and safe target support for the Pure Gold Red Lake Mine team.


The focus of this role will include:

  • Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines
  • Prepare the drill site
  • Move, set up and operate drills as per the drill layouts provided by the geology or engineering departments
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and monitor conditions by checking water flow, components, fluid levels, fittings, safety equipment as well as depths and alignments of boring positions
  • Operate secondary equipment, such as pumps and equipment used to prevent and correct problems or make minor repairs, refuel, inspect, lubricate and replace components to maintain the drill
  • Meet all drill production targets
  • Read and maintain daily drill report and drilling logbook
  • Collaborate with mechanics, production team and supervise Driller Helpers
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Underground common core module training and certification
  • Previous experience of 3-5 years as a production driller
  • Physically fit
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven safe work approach
  • Excellent proven team player approach to work
  • Valid driver’s license
